Piaggio Porter dashboard disassembly
1 - Before starting the activity, remove the negative terminal (-) from the battery.
2 - Remove the instrument unit by unscrewing the two side screws.
3 - Extract the instrument cluster from the dashboard.
4 - The connector is housed in the rear part of the instrument unit . To remove the plug from its housing, press the green tab and slide the safety catch to the left as shown in the following positions (1). After turning the safety catch to position (2) the connector can be removed.
5 - Extract the connector from its seat in the instrument unit
6 - Insert the connector into the new instrument cluster , slide the safety catch and release the green locking tab.
7 - Remove the central dashboard by undoing the two upper screws.
8 - Lift the dashboard and disconnect the control switches from the connectors.
9 - Remove the two plugs in the upper part of the dashboard
10 - Remove the dashboard side fixing screws
11 - Remove the central tunnel with the respective screws.
12 - Disconnect the connectors of the devices present in the central tunnel and remove it
13 - Remove the steering column cover fixing screws.
14 - Removing the steering column cover.
15 - Remove the two brake fluid tank fixing screws.
16 - Remove the screws from the two dashboard support columns.
17 - Release the ventilation control from the dashboard
18 - Remove the steering wheel locking nut.
19 - Disconnect the horn connector by gently pressing the tab with a screwdriver and pushing it upwards
20 - Disconnect the respective connectors from the light switch.
21 - Remove the light switch fixing screw with an Allen key.
22 - Extract the light switch from the steering column.
23 - Remove the dashboard upper anchoring screws
24 - Unscrew the central screw of the dashboard to release it completely.
25 - Remove the dashboard by unhooking the two air conveyor pipes.
