Piaggio Porter Rear Brake Jaws Disassembly
1 - Raise the vehicle using the lift. Unscrew the fixing nuts of the rear wheel on the hub
2 - Unlock the rear brake drum by hitting it lightly with a hammer and remove it
3 - Remove the plate and the locking pin of the jaws
4 - Using a flat blade screwdriver, remove the lower jaw sealing spring
5 - Remove the brake shoes and recover the upper retaining spring and the self-adjusting device
6 - Release the parking brake cable from the brake shoe
7 - Undo the fixing screw of the parking brake cable retaining bracket
8 - Remove the parking brake cable from the shoe holder plate
9 - Check that there are no irregularities on the surface of the jaws and that the springs are not deteriorated or weakened. Bring the self-adjusting device to the minimum stop before assembly.
