Are you wondering how to change the coolant?
No problem we will explain how to do it.
First of all, we remind you to NEVER open the radiator or exhaust cap when the engine is hot.
A. Engage the heater control lever
to the "warm" position. B. Remove the radiator cap (No. 3 in the figure opposite.)
C. Drain the coolant by removing i
drain plugs located on the lower tank of the
radiator and the radiator hose.
D. Remove the plug (N°2 in the figure opposite) on the engine side and the plug (N°1 in the figure opposite)
of the heater bleeder hose on top
of the engine.
E. Insert a hose into the radiator fill hole.
Clean the inside of the radiator. During this
operation keep the engine at idle.
F. Stop the engine and reinstall the drain plugs
and close them.
G. Put the coolant into the radiator.
When coolant starts to leak
from the hole (No. 2 in the figure opposite) located on the motor side and from the pipe
heater vent, close both
openings.
H. Put the coolant until the liquid
comes out of the radiator filler hole.
I. Fully close the radiator cap (N°3 of the first figure.)
L. Clean inside the expansion tank and fill
with the coolant.
M. Start the engine and let it warm up.
N. Always check for leaks.
O. After the temperature of the liquid has decreased,
remove the cap (No. 2 in the figure opposite) located on the engine side. Check the coolant level. If the level is too low, add coolant.
Close the cap again (No. 2 in the figure opposite.)
P. Check the coolant level in the
expansion tank. Add
pour water up to the maximum level. Put the cap on the expansion tank.
Finally fill the radiator with coolant and plug the tester into the radiator cap. Warm up the engine and apply a pressure of 117kPa with the tester you applied to the radiator cap and always check for leaks.
